| What We Do For You |
According to The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 all electrical systems must be regularly inspected and tested for safety. Regulation 4 (1) all systems must be designed, constructed, commissioned and operated as to prevent danger as far as is reasonably practical. Regulation 4 (2) states that these systems must be maintained so as to prevent such danger as far as is reasonably practical. In order to comply with this legislation businesses must have their electrical systems checked for safety at regular intervals. Domestic household owners may require their property to be checked in order to secure a mortgage. |
| After an electrical system has been inspected and tested a certificate or report form will be issued known as a Periodic Inspection Report. This reports on the safety condition of an existing installation. |
| If the electrical systems passes then no further action will be needed. If it fails the inspection and tests then a list of defects will be produced to inform what adjustments must be made in order to bring the system up to British Standards. |
